You know, I found this joke in a book once, and honestly, I couldn’t stop laughing. It was that silly-clever kind of funny: “Where do you bury the World Crossword Champion after they die? Six feet down and five feet across.” I went around telling everyone, I liked it that much! Around the same time, I was racking my brain for college project ideas, and then it hit me – crosswords!
But then I started thinking… if we’re burying the World Champion (a human being, after all!), shouldn’t it be in three dimensions, not just down and across? Boom – 3D crosswords! Turns out, they exist in some form already, but I couldn’t find a fun, digital version I really wanted to play. So, naturally, I ended up making one myself.
Then came presentations. Now, I actually like presentations, I think I’ve figured out how to make them less stressful for myself. But even knowing that, and even though “Digital 3D Crossword” sounded kinda cool on paper… well, let’s just be honest, the actual execution wasn’t exactly going to win any prizes. And I knew I had to find a way to get through the presentation without stressing out too much.
So, yeah, I started with the joke. You know, set the mood, like I always try to with my presentations. And it worked! Actually got a real laugh out of my professors. Suddenly, the whole room just felt… lighter. I felt in control, and after that, it was pretty much smooth sailing.
